Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
How does CBT help Relationship OCD?
Cognitive behavioral therapy will help with both the obsessions and compulsions that you may experience.
The cognitive part of CBT will help with your obsessions by working with your thought processes, and the behavioral part will help with things like reassurance seeking.
The problem itself is not your relationship, rather the problem is how you think about yourself and the things you do. For example, constant analysis and seeking reassurance. CBT will help you change these thought processes into balanced, realistic thoughts rather than the thoughts you have at the moment that’s fueled by Relationship-OCD. What CBT does is teach you how to manage the things you are doing to keep ROCD going, such as constantly seeking reassurance about the relationship.

Practicing Mindfulness
What mindfulness does is help you to let go of your thoughts processes. Having the ability to let go is an important practice of mindfulness. As it’s the thought processes that keeps the problem going.

Managing Anxiety
Anxiety management is very important to your recovery from ROCD, as a lot of us don’t like change at all. You have to learn how to relate to the thoughts in your head and this might make you feel anxious and you would definitely need help to show you how to manage this.
